Some UK gamers who had pre-ordered the Splatoon Special Edition with GAME received the most unexpected email today after a lorry containing their orders was seemingly stolen.

The affected customers had pre-ordered the bundle which included the special edition (and now even rarer) Squid amiibo figurine. GAME explained that the lorry containing the entirety of their stock had gone AWOL after setting off from Nintendo of Europe's warehouse.

Due to the "extraordinary circumstances", the retailer has said it cannot fulfil delivery of those who ordered the Squid amiibo. No replacements will be provided.

The retailer will instead still deliver the game, the Boy Inkling amiibo, and the Girl Inkling amiibo, and knock £10 off the pre-order price.
