Splatoon surpasses 1m units sold

Splatoon has successfully inked past one million copies sold worldwide in less than a month, Nintendo has announced.

The all-new IP from Nintendo has been received hugely well by critics and gamers since its launch at the end of May, and it looks like its commercial performance has reflected that.

The breakdown of the sales includes over 476,000 copies sold in the Americas, 368,000 in Japan, and 230,000 in Europe.

New content is gradually being made available to players for most weeks throughout the summer. Today saw the release of the Luna Blaster weapon. Coming soon will be the special Splatfest events, which pit players against each other based on their preferences in a number of crazy topics.
