All N64 Games #379: Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue
Lightspeed Rescue on PS1 is a decent beat-em up, Lightspeed Rescue on Game Boy Color is a decent side scroller, Lightspeed Rescue on N64 is…whatever this is.

All N64 Games #378: Army Men: Sarge’s Heroes 2
Sarge’s Heroes 2 feels like a game that doesn’t know what platform it wanted to be on.

All N64 Games #377: Shiren the Wanderer 2: Shiren’s Castle and the Oni Invasion
The Shiren the Wanderer series is a spin-off of the Mystery Dungeon franchise, a series that has used multiple IPs throughout the years – although the latest two games (as of 2024) have also been Shiren the Wanderer games.

All N64 Games #376: Pokémon Puzzle League
The lack of a Japanese release for this is interesting for a few reasons. For starters, it is one of the few (if only, alongside the GBC version) Pokémon games to not get released in Japan.

All N64 Games #375: Frogger 2
Unlike earlier N64 prototypes of games that released on PlayStation, this is not a final or near-final build, but rather a very early version.

All N64 Games #374: NFL Blitz 2001
More frantic American football, but also mostly indistinguishable from the previous year’s game.

All N64 Games #373: Madden NFL 2001
While Madden 2000 looked like it was trying to revitalise the series, Madden 2001 just comes across as a more clinical version

All N64 Games #372: Toon Panic
The most interesting thing about this prototype is that there was little information about the game itself until the prototype was found on a dev cartridge

All N64 Games #371: Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion
Shortly before Turok 2 came out, Half-Life released PC, with a big focus on a linear, but more cinematic, first person shooter. This was too late to have any influence on Turok 2, but it’s clear to see the influence of Half-Life on Turok 3

All N64 Games #370: San Francisco Rush 2049
The third of the Rush games on N64, heading back to San Francisco, but given a sci-fi spin with bright neon lights and fast cars with wings.

All N64 Games #369: Mario Artist Polygon Studio
The last in the Mario Artist series, and the final 64DD game. That said, it goes off on a high note

All N64 Games #368: NFL QB Club 2001
For this year’s Quarterback Club (with its shortened name), Iguana took a break and gave the game to High Voltage Software.

All N64 Games #367: Hercules: The Legendary Journeys
The initial impressions of Hercules is that this is a Zelda clone. The tutorial explains the concept of a context sensitive button, and when you reach the first area, it just looks like a cheap Zelda game.

All N64 Games #366: Sydney 2000
Another finished game that ended up getting cancelled on the N64. Sydney 2000 released on PlayStation, PC, and Dreamcast, and was due to be released on N64, but cancelled at the last minute before ordering cartridges.

All N64 Games #364: Paper Mario
Turn-based RPGs are not my kind of game, yet Paper Mario has so much charm, that I can still adore the game.

All N64 Games #363: International Superstar Soccer 2000
The big new thing for this game, though, is a brand new RPG story mode – unless you live in North America, where that feature was cut.

All N64 Games #362: Taz Express
Taz Express was cancelled in North America, making it one of the few PAL exclusive N64 games. And it’s absolutely terrible.

All N64 Games #361: Doraemon 3: Nobita’s Town SOS!
The third of the Doraemon games on N64, this goes back to being more of a Mario style platformer, only with absolutely no platforming challenge.

All N64 Games #360: Carnivalé: Cenzo’s Adventure
The N64 didn’t get a lot of movie tie-in games, so it’s quite bizarre that this exists. The film (which you probably haven’t heard of) was directed by Deane Taylor, the art director for A Nightmare Before Christmas.
