N-E Mario Kart League 2012 - Final Report

The 2012 Mario Kart league started on Thursday 5th January with 28 players and finished on the 22nd November with 13 players taking part in the final league night of the year. With 43 players taking part across the whole year.

The league finished in November due to the launch of the Nintendo Wii U in late November.
The format of the league is simple, every Thursday Night, we play three league GPs on Mario Kart 7 on the Nintendo 3DS.
And after a gruelling 11 months of competitive Grand Prix's N-Europe has crowned its 2012 MK Champion - Foohad.

Below is the final league table.

 The League Champion - Foohad

Foohad has been the player to beat since day one; to be at the top of his game each week and be top of the league from the January to November is an amazing achievement. He played over 100 GPs and fully deserves the honour of being the 2012 Mario Kart League Champion. Congratulations to a great champion, his challenge next year, to defend his title.

The Runner Up - Redshell

Probably the most respected and liked player in the league and if not for Foohad, I think he would have run away with the league.
He has taken part in 140 of the 141 GPs this year, which is a phenomenal achievement.
He is the League’s Player of the Year

The unlucky One - S.C.G

S.C.G was never able to win his 1st GP but never quit, he took part in 97 GPs this year. Never complained, just kept playing and came so close on numerous occasions of getting his 1st GP win. We need more players like him next year.

Thanks to all Racers!

A big thank you to everyone who took part, this league has been a success because of all of you.
To all those who took photos at the end of GPs and posted them so I could update the league tables each week, thank you.
To all those who posted brilliant theme ideas, thank you.
To all those who suggested improvements to the league, thank you.

My thoughts on the 2012 Mario Kart League, as league organiser

11 months of gruelling nail biting action have come to an end.
I have really enjoyed organising the league this year, probably more than any other year. It’s been a joy to update the league tables every week and watch as each player goes up and down the league table.
This has been one of the most competitive years with everyone on their day in contention to win a GP.
We have had so many great players take part this year, you only have to look at the league table and their win percentages for proof of that.

Looking to the Future - 2013

With the ending of the 2012 MK League season we are already looking forward to next year and a new season of Mario Karting action.

We are always on the lookout for new members to join the league.

If you are interested in joining the league, either PM me (Lostmario) for details or leave a post in the Mario Kart League 2013 thread (thread to be created in early January).

The 2013 league kicks off on Thursday January 17th.

Below is the fixture list for next year, detailing the theme nights. I hope you join us.
