Nintendo Switch Online users in Japan will have the option to download a separate 18+ N64 app from the Nintendo eShop.

This new app launches with Goldeneye 007 and Jet Force Gemini.

Goldeneye released on NSO in the west earlier in the year, and Jet Force Gemini also releases next month in Europe.

In Japan, both Jet Force Gemini and Goldeneye 007 have a Z rating, the equivalent of an 18 rating in Europe.

While the Z rating of Goldeneye 007 and Jet Force Gemini explains the existence of the app, fans have been speculating as to if this could signal future N64 releases such as Conker’s Bad Fur Day and Perfect Dark, which were previously considered by many to be impossible, considering both the Rareware licensing issues and the age ratings.
