FROGGER RETURNS TO HIS ROOTS WITH ALL-NEW FROGGER CLASSIC FOR NEXT-GEN CONSOLES

Fan Favorite Leap Frogs Into the 21st century With Classic Gameplay, Cutting-Edge Graphics

Electronic Entertainment Expo - Booth #900 - LOS ANGELES, CA - May 22, 2002 - Marking a welcome return to the famous platform-hopping gameplay that has made the Frogger franchise a perennial favorite, Konami of America Inc., revealed today the next generation title in a long tradition of amphibian fun. In Frogger Classic (working title), slated to debut on the Nintendo GameCube™, Sony PlayStation 2, Microsoft Xbox™ videogame consoles and PC CD-ROM in Fall 2002 and Frogger's Adventures 2 (working title) for Game Boy Advance, the little green guy is set to wow a whole new generation of game players.

Frogger Classic (working title)
Inspired by the simple, addictive gameplay of the original arcade game, Frogger Classic launches our green hero into a whole new world of challenges, obstacles and platform-action fun. The adventure begins as the young hero faces the Elder Council on the eve of his birthday and is told that he must overcome a series of challenging obstacles as a right of passage into 'teenage-hood'. Frogger's troubles begin when our leaping lead frog sets out to conquer the lush world that he inhabits and is quickly faced with fierce foes and challenging puzzles.

With easy-to-learn controls, classic gameplay, colorful graphics and a host of extra features, Frogger Classic promises to deliver lively tile-base platform action that's perfect for the whole family.

Frogger Classic stars the unflappable Frogger in an adventure that takes the little green guy to a whole new level. Set across eight expansive worlds with detailed and exotic environments, Frogger Classic features a wide range of mischievous enemies and puzzling obstacles that will challenge gamers of all ages. In addition to hopping around, the emerald amphibian will find himself navigating a snowboard, steering a run-away mine cart and even navigating an asteroid field.

Multi-player mode for up to 4 players make this the perfect party game, while a number of hidden features including unlockable characters, a blooper reel, and cheat codes ensure that gamers will come back to Frogger Classic again and again.

Frogger's Adventures 2 (working title)
The sequel to last year's award-winning Frogger's Adventures: Temple of the Frog, Konami's new Frogger's Adventures 2 offers Game Boy Advance owners the same addictive, classic arcade style gameplay that made the first title so popular. Players will join Frogger as he hops across six unique worlds and 17 levels, avoids oncoming obstacles and uses his new tongue-grab move to drag tiles. Also, available in Frogger's Adventures 2 is a multi-player option that allows fans to compete against one another for frog-tastic fun!

The original Frogger arcade game generated record-breaking success when Konami initially released it in the U.S. in 1981. The object of the game was to help a frog reach one of five lily pads in his swampy home by navigating him through a dangerous, traffic-filled road and across a river of floating logs and turtles. The simplistic yet addictive gameplay made Frogger one of the most recognizable icons in videogame history.
