Final Smash Direct summary

Last week, we preached our hopes and expectations about the characters which would be unveiled in the final Smash Bros. video presentation for SSB4. Nobody guessed right. Three (two if you don't count the already announced Cloud) new characters were revealed, along with some new stages and Mii costumes.

The presentation started out with a surprise addition: Corrin from the upcoming Fire Emblem Fates join the fray. With dragon blood in his veins, Corrin can (partly) change into a dragon for a variety of moves. Especially the pinning move will bring some interesting tactics to this character. As with Robin, Corrin comes in both male and female versions. Corrin will be released in February 2016 for €4,99 per game or €5,99 for both platforms.

Next we got some more details about Cloud, who was already shown earlier. Now however we got a full rundown of his movesets, and his stage Midgar was also shown in full effect. The stage (available on both platforms) allows you to summon deities by collecting Materia. Kills by the summons add to your score. Cloud is available now (Cloud + Midgar costs €5,99 per game or €6,99 for both platforms)!

Cloud Smash

The final character is the wicked Bayonetta, a character who not many people expected (although she was voted #1 in Europe and Top 5 in the US). Using her skills to call on demons from another dimension, and her four guns, Bayonetta will be a force to be reckoned with. Along with the character comes the Umbra Clock Tower stage based on the first Bayonetta game. As with Corrin, Bayonetta will be released in February 2016 (Bayonetta + Umbra costs €5,99 per game or €6,99 for both platforms).

Finally a whole number of Mii costumes will be available: Geno, Chocobo, Ashley, Gil, Tails, Knuckles, Takamaru and Bionic Armour. You can download the corresponding Miis for some of these costumes from the SSB website.

So that's it, the final batch of Smash Bros. DLC. Are you excited, disappointed or not really bothered with DLC at all? Let us know in the comments below!
