Hideki Kamiya would like to see a Bayonetta Wii U port

While it was something of a major coup for Nintendo to exclusively secure Bayonetta 2 on Wii U, there has been no shortage of fans hopeful that a port of the original 2009 PS3/360 game would also see release.

Hideki Kamiya - creator of Bayonetta and supervisor on the upcoming sequel - added his voice to the crowd today, responding to fans over Twitter. After several correspondences in which he seemed to approve of a Wii U port, he explicitly made his feelings clear, tweeting:

"For the ppl who haven't played Bayo1 yet but want to play Bayo2, I think it's good idea to release Bayo1 before Bayo2. I hope that'll happen."

Kamiya also confirmed that Platinum Games could release the game on Wii U before its sequel if Nintendo greenlit the idea.

With Nintendo having secured the rights to Bayonetta 2, it is widely expected that the rights to the first game currently lie - in some capacity at least - with the original publisher Sega.
