In a surprise localisation announcement, Nintendo of Europe's Satoru Shibata used last night's Nintendo Direct to reveal that Inazuma Eleven Strikers for Wii would be hitting our region later this year.

It was the fourth game in the Inazuma Eleven series to be released in Japan, following three DS iterations. The first two DS games are available in Europe right now.

The games follow the adventures of a group of school-kids who create their own football team. Gameplay mixes real-time football mechanics with character-building RPG elements, and throws in plenty of over-the-top special moves for good measure.

Inazuma Eleven Strikers releases on September 28th.
