Media: Rayman Origins Screenshots

Prepare to be stunned by the first official screenshots from Rayman Origins.

The limbless wonder Rayman is set to return to his roots in the upcoming Wii title Rayman Origins, described as a "high-definition, 2D side-scrolling, platforming adventure in full 4-player co-op" in the official press release.

Rayman Origins is set to mix the nostalgic with the new by bringing back classic characters but providing new challenges and experiences, including over 100 characters and 60 levels across 12 environments. You and your friends can participate in the four-player jump-in/jump-out mode whereby you can play as Rayman, a Globox or one of two Teensies.

Ubisoft are keen to push the art of Rayman Origins to the foreground and we can hardly blame them. The title makes use of UBIart Framework, a system designed by game creator Michel Ancel to allow smaller teams to produce high quality graphics, which seems to have paid off. The screenshots, which can be found in the gallery, are a sight to behold.

Expect more details at next week's E3, when the game was supposed to be officially announced before it got leaked a few weeks ago.
