Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Wii U screenshots

Capcom have released the first screenshots of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Wii U - the first title in the popular adventure series to grace a Nintendo system in HD.

Ultimate is actually based on the 3DS title Monster Hunter 3 G. That game never released outside Japan, but Capcom are now prepping it for a worldwide release in the form of Ultimate on both 3DS and Wii U.

Naturally, the Wii U version has assets largely based on the 3DS game, but impressively you'll be able to transfer your save file between 3DS and Wii U (though this feature isn't available for 2010's Monster Hunter 3). The 3DS version will feature local multiplayer, while the Wii U version is stocked with a full online multiplayer mode.

Capcom has also confirmed that the Wii U version will run at a full 1080p. To check out the below screenshots in their native resolution, head over to the gallery.
