Interestingly, Kevin Afghani will also be the voice of the talking flowers that you’ll find throughout the game!

This news has come a week earlier than expected, as Doug Bowser previously stated we wouldn’t find out who the new voice actor would be until Super Mario Bros. Wonder releases.

Here’s a snippet from our article last month:

In a recent interview with IGN, Nintendo of America President, Doug Bowser, claimed that we will find out the voice of the new actor in the credits of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and seemingly no sooner, so don’t expect any official announcement before then.

"We'll let that play out and that'll be within the credits, people will learn who the new person is at that point in time, but we don't plan to make any announcement in advance of that."

This is of course a result of the recent news that Charles Martinet has stepped down from his role as the voice of Super Mario and the supporting cast, which we first reported on back in August:

Charles Martinet, the voice of Mario since Super Mario 64, has voiced his last lines as the iconic plumber. The upcoming Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and any future Mario games, will not feature his vocal talents.

Charles Martinet has been the voice of Mario for a landmark 27 years, and is also the voice of many supporting characters, including Wario, Waluigi, Luigi, Baby Mario and Baby Luigi.
