News: Akroyd Lets Slip Ghostbusters Publisher

Original Ghostbuster Dan Akroyd has let slip that Atari will be publishing Ghostbusters for the Wii next year.

Ghostbusters for the Wii appears to have been in limbo since the Activision-Blizzard merger. Originally it was intended to be published by Vivendi towards the end of 2008, but Activision have declined to comment on the status of the game after it didn't turn up on a list of franchises which would be carried over to Activision and Blizzard's new super-publisher.

Dan Akroyd, who fans may just recognise as original Ghostbuster Ray Stantz from the 1984 classic film and its sequel, has stepped in to save the day with the announcement that Atari will be publishing the game for Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Unfortunately, the game is still a way off and development won't be complete for another year yet. However, it's just nice to know that Red Fly Studio's project hasn't been entirely and unjustly scrapped...
