News: Brawls Tops Japanese Charts

Want to see how well Brawl has done in the land of the rising sun? Look no further...

The game Wii owners have been waiting for - ever since the Wii was first announced - has finally arrived Japan. And it's clear it has done very well, as already it's just short of the million mark. That's right, since its release on January 31st, Brawl has sold 820,000 units, making it roughly a 95% sell through. It's likely that many gamers out there are still looking for the game but are now having a hard time. Most of the chart is filled with new entries this week, leaving Nintendo with 3 spots in the top ten, lead by Brawl. The full list can be soon below.

  • 1. Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii) - 820,000 - New Challanger!
  • 2. Devil May Cry 4 (PS3) - 205,000 - New Entry
  • 3. Tales of Destiny: Director's Cut (PS2) - 117,000 - New Entry
  • 4. Haruhi Suzumiya's Wonderment (PS2) - 114,000 - New Entry
  • 5. Wii Fit (Wii) - 73,000 / 1,356,000
  • 6. Disgaea 3 (PS3) - 55,000 - New Entry
  • 7. Devil May Cry 4 (360) - 40,000
  • 8. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games (DS) - 34,000/ 175,000
  • 9. Assassin's Creed (PS3) - 28,000 - New Entry
  • 10. World Soccer Winning Eleven: Ubiquitous Evolution 2008 (PSP) - 26,000 / 102,000

Hopefully Brawl will have similar success in the US and Europe, whenever the latter gets it. Stay with N-Europe for when we finally get that date...
