Ace Attorney Investigations 2

News: Capcom Discuss Ace Attorney Inv. 2

Capcom explains why Ace Attorney Investigations 2 won't be released in the West.

Last week's Capcom podcast answered a fan's question about the possibility of Ace Attorney Investigation 2 being released in Europe and America and it was met with a rather abrupt "no". The developer has now explained why the title won't be localised.

Explaining the reasoning on the Capcom forum Corporate Officer/Senior Vice-President Christian Svensson stated that "the costs of localization are higher than the forecasted return."

He also challenged assertions that it would do better than the recently released Okamiden by noting that it had already sold more than the first Ace Attorney Investigations. There was a minor glimmer of hope for fans however as Mr. Svensson suggested it could appear on other platforms in the future.

Could this content show up on some other platform somewhere down the line? Possibly, but there's nothing on that front for me to talk about. I realize there are fans who would like to have this and I'll be sure to explore ways that could happen viably in the future with our strategy and R&D teams but no promises.

With all previous Phoenix Wright titles being released on the DS hopefully Capcom will continue this and not jump ship to other platforms. Whether this title will see some form of DSiWare release in the future remains to be seen.
