News: EA Talk Downloadable Music Packs

Publisher behemoth EA have talked about the possibility of bringing downloadable music content to games such as Madden NFL.

Whilst we've yet to see true downloadable content on the Wii for games such as Guitar Hero III, the immense success of downloadable music packs on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 make it an inevitability.

It seems that EA have been influenced by the performance of downloadable music packs on other consoles however. Speaking to Reuters, the huge publisher known for their sports franchises and recent games such as My Sims expressed interest in providing music packs for titles like Madden! Their popular American football franchise, as well as Grand Theft Auto and Tony Hawk's, were all games described as having a soundtrack integral to immersion in the game. Whilst additional music in sports games could be a nice touch, we wonder if it would be a more suited to games which actually revolve around music, such as Boogie?
