Nintendo have begun the first worldwide competition on Mario Kart Wii, which features a Chain-Chomp filled Mario Circuit!

Got the Mario Kart Wii Channel on your system? Expect to be seeing that lovely blue flashing disc slot light soon, as Nintendo have sent out a worldwide message letting you know that Mario Kart Wii's first global competition has begun!

Racers are being invited to send in race times for a special VS match - it'll be you, plus the usual computer players (which means yes, weapons are in force), on a special version of the Mario Circuit level.

The racetrack usually features a Chain-Chomp, chained up. This version of the course however sees multiple Chomps loose on the race-track each with a trail of item boxes behind them. This should make for some interesting attempts...
