Early copies of the game, which launches this week in Japan, are already being torn through by Japanese fans, eager to find out exactly who all the secret characters are. Confirming early internet rumours, there are 35 playable characters in the game, and several big surprises.

Below is the game's character select screen with all characters unlocked. Worth noting is the intriguing additions of newcomer R.O.B., and the fact that Young Link is now portrayed in his cel-shaded, Wind Waker guise.
