News: Guilty Gear Goes Back To Arc System

After being in the hands of Sega, the rights to Guilty Gear finally went back to Arc System Works.

After Sega and Sammy merged, it was unclear where the rights to Guilty Gear, developed by Arc System Works with Daisuke Ishiwatari at the helm, would go since they belonged to Sammy. In the end, Sega Sammy Holdings held on (pun possibly intended) to the rights and Arc Systems went on to work on BlazBlue.

Earlier, Arc System Works filed a trademark for Guilty Gear in Japan, which wouldn't be possible if Sega sill had the rights to the IP. Later the company confirmed to Siliconera that they managed to get the rights to the series back.

Does this mean we'll be seeing a new Guilty Gear soon? Who knows, but meanwhile our review for Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus, which came out on the 20th of this month in Europe published by pQube will be up really, really soon!
