News: Mega Man Details

New details have been released about the upcoming Mega Man Gamecube game, Mega Man Network Transmission.

Capcom showed the press the latest videos from their upcoming game, Mega Man Network Transmission. The game is set to be a mix between 3D and cel-shaded visuals.

Capcom say they have contains characters from both of the Game Boy Advance Mega Man Battle Network games. It also explains what happens between the two games and is related to the GBA series, which is expecting a 3rd installment soon.

The plotlines has been announced and it is set a month after the WWW organization tried to commandeer a military satellite. Unfortunatly, cyberspace is about to encounter another problem, a new virus, the "Zero Virus". Lan and Mega Man must make their way through the virtual realm and take out the virus.

The game will also feature the chip system from the GBA games, in which players can collect chips and use them to upgrade Mega Man's weaponary and armoury.

Mega Man Network Transmission is being released on Mega Man's 15th anniversary and Capcom will honour the occassion by launching six new titles for the franchise, Mega Man & Bass, Mega Man Battle Network 3: White and Blue versions and Mega Man Zero 2 for the Game Boy Advance; Mega Man Network Transmission for the Nintendo GameCube and Mega Man X7 for the PlayStation 2.

The games features include:

  • New Visual Designs- Every character redesigned in cel-shading
  • The chip system
  • Customizable attacks, select which chips to use in battles
  • More than 100 attacks, and many different playing styles
  • New storyline- takes place between Mega Man Battle Network 1 & 2.
