News: Metroid Advertising

The next big Nintendo game is hitting the Gamecube next month, but the ads are already starting!

Nintendo have announced a �5 Million ad campaign for upcoming game, Metroid Prime, due to launch on March 21st. Nintendo have struck an MTV sponsership deal as well as TV and prints ad also advertising their Metroid Pak.

Some of the advertising will be at MTV Winterjam 2003 held in Davos Switzerland and will feature a gamimg competition where gamers play games that are projected onto the giant 'ice wall'.

TV adverts will be shown on Channel 4, E4, MTV and Sky One and print adverts will span over two months in FHM, Front, Loaded, Stuff and Boys Toys. There will also be an 8 week cinematic style online advertising campaign.

Nintendo.co.uk will also be hosting a competition for people to build their own Metroid Prime website and the winner will get a load of 'money can't buy' Metroid Prime prizes.

The Metroid Prime Pak, which costs �200, will feature a black Gamecube, with controller, Metroid Prime and an exlusive name-plate (others have been given away by CUBE Magazine).

Metroid Prime sold a staggering 250,000 copies within one week of its release in the US and as the positive reviews keep coming in, European gamers are gearing up for the arrival of the classic gaming franchise on to the NINTENDO GAMECUBE for the first time."
