With it being one of the most critically-acclaimed games on DS, as well as a surprise hit with western gamers, it's almost criminal that we haven't seen a follow-up to The World Ends With You. With any luck, that might be rectified very soon.

With the game's lead character Neku earning a cameo appearance in forthcoming 3DS game Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, Square-Enix's Tetsuya Nomura, who was the charatcer designer for the Jupiter-developed TWEWY, has seemingly confirmed that this is indeed a teaser of things to come. He went on to state that something indeed was being worked on.

There was no mention of whether this something is a sequel, remake, port or spin-off, but the news is sure to set the The World Ends With You's rabid cult following alight.
