I contacted Nintendo of America 2 days ago, due to the fact that there are so many (really bad) rumours going around these days.

Dear Nintendo,

As I work for a website (www.cube-europe.com) it has recently come to my attention that there are rumours here, there and everywhere concerning Starfox Adventures, Rare, and their future.

Rumours are rife that Starfox Adventures will be going multi-format. I find this increasingly hard to believe, mainly because of the fact that the Starfox licence is one that Nintendo own. Please confirm that Starfox Adventures will be appearing on no platform other than the GameCube.

Rumour also has it that Rare have been bought out by Activision. I also find this hard to believe, as Nintendo hold a big share of Rare. Please would you clarify whether or not Activision HAS bought Rare out, and whether or not Rare will be developing on other platforms. I would be very grateful.

I'm glad you asked! The status between RARE and Nintendo has not changed. Star Fox Adventures is estimated to be released this fall for the NINTENDO GameCube.

The status has NOT changed ie, RARE are still tied to Nintendo, have not been bought out and will not be going multiformat.
