News: Pimp My Triforce

A very clever modder has turned his DS into an ocean blue delight for charity.

Here at N-Europe, we love our console mods (not in the illegal hacking and chipping sense). In the past we've reported on a golden Wii (steady) with the Master Sword emblazoned on it and also a golden DS (the modding community seems to love their Zelda), and we never tire of the creativity that oozes from the fantastic works of art.

The newest creation comes from eBay seller page8205, who had clearly been gripped by the hype generated by Link's new seafaring adventure in Phantom Hourglass before he picked up his paintbrush. A brand new DS Lite has been painted ocean blue and hooked up to a miniature Hylian Shield with two swords and arrows crossed behind it. Green LED lights flash to correspond with the power light when the handheld is turned on. Notice the attention to detail on places such as the stylus, which has been retouched on the grip part with blue paint. Also of note: 15% of the proceeds are going to the charity Child's Play. The gorgeous console can be seen here.

This little lovely is currently going for AU $285.00, so if you'd like to play The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass in style (and your name is also Scrooge McDuck) then this is the handheld for you.
