News: Professor Layton European Release Date?

It appears that Level-5 are releasing the Japanese puzzle adventure game in Europe and America on the same day...

The Japanese went crazy for Professor Layton and the Curious Village upon its release in the land of the rising sun last February. The DS puzzle game puts you in the shoes of the titular professor who has been assigned the case of discovering the treasure of a recently deceased baron. As the player, you must use the power of logic to solve over 130 puzzles and unravel the enigmas hidden within the village. Extra puzzles can be downloaded weekly from Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

Whilst the game is on track for a release on February 10th 2008 in North America, it appears that - oddly enough - the European release is scheduled for the same day! February 10th is a Sunday, whilst games are traditionally released on a Friday in Europe. Whilst the release date was most likely a typo or simply a mistake, it appears that Europe will be adventuring with Professor Layton a lot earlier than expected.

Stay tuned to N-Europe for the latest on Professor Layton and the Curious Village.

UPDATE!

According to Nintendo of Italy, the February 10th release date is only confirmed for the North American market. Europe is back in the dark again.
