News: Strong Bad Sales Spike With Extra Storage

Telltale Games has announced the recent storage solution has given their WiiWare series a new lease of life...

Ever since Nintendo introduced the ability to download WiiWare and Virtual Console games straight onto an SD card, the infamous storage problem has become a thing of the past. It looks like its also paying dividends to WiiWare developers too, as us gamers are now spending more points than ever before.

Makers of WiiWare's Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People episodes, Telltale Games, have announced that since Nintendo brought about the storage solution at the end of March, sales for the series have "more than doubled". The Strong Bad collection was WiiWare's first monthly, episodic effort from a developer, and the entire 6-piece set (which released in August) can be bought from the Shop Channel for 1000 points an episode.

Telltale CEO Dan Connors expressed his delight at the revitilisation of the series.

"Nintendo's new solution really opens the door for players to add to their collection of downloadable games, which is critical for a series with multiple installments... This is a major step forward for episodic gaming. We're looking forward to even greater success on WiiWare with Strong Bad, as well as other projects."
