News: The Incredibles - First Details!

Nintendo has unveiled the first details on the GameCube game based on Pixar's upcoming film, The Incredibles.

Nintendo reported on its official website that THQ recently dropped by to demo a very early build of the GCN game based on Pixar's upcoming film, The Incredibles, about a family of superheroes called out of retirement.

The game will be a single-player action game in which the player can control each member of The Incredibles.

The Incredibles is something of a change of pace for Pixar, because it's the first Pixar film to put human characters front and center. Brad Bird (The Simpsons, The Iron Giant) is writing and directing. Samuel L. Jackson, Craig Nelson, Holly Hunter and Jason Lee are voicing the movie. Composer Michael Giacchino (best know to gamers for his award-winning work on Medal of Honor: Frontline) is composing the movie soundtrack.

Longtime handheld developer Helix is making a side-scrolling 2-1/2D The Incredibles for the GBA. Both games will be released at the same time.

Though early, Nintendo said that The Incredibles holds out considerable promise. THQ has always done an excellent job of capturing the look and feel of popular licenses, mostly notably with Nickelodeon shows.
