News: WarioWare To Feature Wii-DS Connectivity?

Will Smooth Moves Feature Link-up Play With The Nintendo DS?

Nintendo have always tried to encourage linkup play between home consoles and handhelds. They tried this with various titles on the Gamecube, and this was met with mixed criticism, saying that it was just simply too expensive to own a handheld, console, copies of the game on each system, and a link up cable.

However, we're betting that Nintendo will keep trying with this, and may even be successful on a financial scale, one day.

In the meantime, a reader over at GoNintendo has unearthed some information which may prove that Nintendo are once again trying link up play, this time for WarioWare.

Reader Mr. Ja Ja stumbled upon something very interesting. He was looking at the latest Iwata Asks over at the Japanese website, and noticed an interesting picture. He looked at a Google translation as well, and it seems to discuss WarioWare, the DS, and the Wii all together. Look at the picture below, which looks like Mii character creation on the DS.

They also have a video of WarioWare: Smooth Moves showing off another Mii character game. We know that Miis do show up in the game, but we haven't heard anything about utilizing the DS.

It's a safe bet to make that Nintendo will be attempting linkup play in some games (pokemon, for example). But, could WarioWare also be using this feature? We shall see.
