Penny's Big Breakaway Receives Bugfix and 60FPS Patch

Penny’s Big Breakaway is a fun and frantic 3D platformer from the mastermind that brought us Sonic Mania, and while fans have been having a blast, it has been noted that there are certain issues with the title, particularly the Switch version.

Many bugs have been reported, as well as the disappointing realisation that the Switch version only runs at 30FPS. But all that is set to change!

An upcoming patch will give you the option to continue playing in 30FPS, now with anti-aliasing, or instead has a performance mode that will let you enjoy the adventure in smooth 60 FPS.

Meanwhile, a number of bugfixes will also accompany this welcome FPS boost.

The developer, Christian Whitehead, broke the news on Twitter/X:

A solid patcharoo is out on PC now, and will be on consoles pending approval! In particular Switch patch gets a video mode to unlock the framerate to 60 ala Bombrush, or adds Anti-Aliasing if you choose to stay locked.
