Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You coming to selected cinemas in November

It has been 20 years since the Pokémon anime series started (and Ash still isn't very good) and to celebrate a new movie will be released in selected cinemas on November 5th and 6th.

Currently screenings in the UK have not been announced, but it has been promised that details will be available on the Fathom website in due course.  There is no confirmation at present as to whether it will be available in other European regions too.

Details of what the film will cover are sparse, just that it wil "loosely retell" the first episode.  The film is listed as 95 minutes however, so presumably there will be more than just the 20-odd minutes of the original episode. A trailer for the film can be seen below (the one on the Fathom website is blocked).

Attendees will also get a limited edition Pikachu promo card for the Trading Card Game, as can be seen to the left.

If you can't attend however, don't worry as you will be able to download one of six different versions of Pikachu in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. Each version will be available via password released on the Pokémon.com website, although don't forget you can only get one.  The dates are as follows:Ashs Pikachu All

  • September 19–25: Ash’s Pikachu (Original Cap)
  • September 26 – October 2: Ash’s Pikachu (Hoenn Cap)
  • October 3–9: Ash’s Pikachu (Sinnoh Cap)
  • October 10–16: Ash’s Pikachu (Unova Cap)
  • October 17–23: Ash’s Pikachu (Kalos Cap)
  • October 24–30: Ash’s Pikachu (Alola Cap)
