Renegade Kid reveals Cult County - horror FPS for eShop

As promised, American indie studio Renegade Kid has taken to the PAX East expo with another title for the 3DS eShop - a brand new horror first-person shooter titled Cult County.

Cult County will be released episodically on the eShop, with three episodes at about four hours each constituting one 'season', with the plan being that a whole season is released in the space of a year. It is likely that we'll have to wait until 2014 for the first episodes to be released.

The game takes place in Texas, and seemingly takes a leaf out of the original Silent Hill's book with a pervading sandstorm being akin to that game's creepy mist effect. The Circle Pad Pro will be compatible, but not mandatory for the controls.

Cult County is clearly still in an early stage of development, with the screens below taken from the PAX East demo which was put together to convey the atmosphere of the game to expo-goers.

Cult County is Renegade Kid's first forray into the 3D FPS genre since their work on DS. The studio's break-out hits were the horror FPS Dementium: The Ward and the atmospheric Moon.
