Rumour: Sonic & Rayman To Fight In Smash Bros.

Has a U.S. retailer just leaked the biggest Brawl bombshell to date?

Coming straight from the left field is the "news" that the hotly-anticipated forthcoming Super Smash Bros. Brawl is to feature Sega icon Sonic the Hedgehog, as well as Ubisoft mascot Rayman. The source? An American EB Games store in New Jersey, where box-art for the title has been snapped.

Also featuring unannounced Nintendo characters such as Petey Piranha, Bowser Jr. and K.K. Slider, the cover was explained as a "mock-up", and yet it appears to be officially made.

Weighing in, we'd say it was likely to be faked just by its inclusion of K.K. Slider, who has recently been confirmed as appearing as a non-playable character in the background of the Animal Crossing stage. Would he really be a playable character and in the background at the same time? The truth lies in the details, folks...

That said, if the art is fake (and its very nicely made), the mock-up is most certainly falsely raising a lot of customers' hopes right now. Are EBGames privy to information on this we don't know?

GameDaily have the mocked-up packshot on their site here. Fake or real? Leave your comments below...
