SEGA Reveal New Trailer and Music for Sonic Frontiers

Sonic fans have been blessed the last few years with two great blockbuster movies and some classic videogames in the form of Sonic Colours Ultimate and Sonic Origins, but one thing they have been desperately clamouring for is a brand new entry in the franchise.

5 years on from Sonic Forces, Sonic is finally set to get a brand new game.

In search of the missing Chaos emeralds, Sonic becomes stranded on an ancient island teeming with unusual creatures. Battle hordes of powerful enemies as you explore a breathtaking world of action, adventure, and mystery.

Accelerate to new heights and experience the thrill of high-velocity, open-zone platforming freedom as you race across the five massive Starfall Islands. Jump into adventure, wield the power of the Ancients, and fight to stop these new mysterious foes.

SEGA has also revealed a snippet of the ending song for Frontiers from popular Japanese rock band One Ok Rock. Long time fans will be happy to hear the signature Sonic style of music is back in top form and reminiscent of the glory days of Sonic Adventure and Heroes.

Lastly, SEGA revealed yet another song for the title, this one being a brand new arrangement for the game, written and performed by To Octavia’s Merry Kirk-Holmes. The song “I’m Here” has a heavy rock/metal feel mixed with orchestral and piano sounds reminiscent of Sonic 2006.

Sonic Frontiers releases on Nintendo Switch later this year - Will you be racing to the store on launch day?
