The latest spirit event for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be live this Friday, themed around the mighty Nintendo 64 games console, the event focuses on characters which featured in N64 games, including numerous spirits from both The Legend of Zelda titles, Donkey Kong 64 and even the legendary Sin and Punishment.

This event will run for five days, giving you a decent amount of time to remember the good days of the Nintendo Sixty Fooooooour! (ahem!) if you were lucky enough to grow up in that era, and to add some more spirits to your collection, after which time they will appear in regular rotation.

Perhaps the year of 2020 will bring some N64 games to the Switch in remastered form, or even a Nintendo 64 mini console maybe? Though it might be wise to temper our expectations, when it comes to all things Nintendo, it's hard not to hope for some nostalgic surpises from one of the most fondly remembered eras of gaming.
