Super Smash Bros. Wii U launch date and bundles announced

Nintendo has announced that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will be launching in Europe on December 5th.

The company also confirmed the release schedule for the NFC models it's calling 'amiibo' - a range of Nintendo character figurines which can connect to Super Smash Bros. and other games. The first wave of amiibo figures will release on November 28th, and include Mario, Yoshi, Link, Samus, and Marth. The second group of amiibo figures, which includes Diddy Kong, Pit, and Captain Falcon, will release on December 19th.

Super Smash Bros. will also be released in stores alongside a couple of bundles. A copy of the game plus a Mario amiibo figure will be made available as a pack-in from launch day, and there'll also be a bundle which includes the game plus the new Gamecube controller adapter, which lets you plug your Gamecube pad to the Wii U and use it to play Smash Bros.

A special, Smash Bros. themed Gamecube controller will also be released on December 5th.
