Twilight Princess set for a Wii U HD remake?

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess might be set to become the latest popular last-generation title to get a HD make-over. A couple of bits of evidence hidden deep away on Nintendo's eShop have risen to the surface, possibly pertaining to a HD re-release.

First, there was the discovery of a Twilight Princess icon, that did not feature the Wii banner of the regular Wii games on the eShop, as explained in this GameXplain video.

But today, Eurogamer has reported that other eagle-eyed fans have also spotted a listing for 'The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD' on the server, causing more speculation of an imminent HD remake of the epic game which both sang goodbye to Gamecube and launched Wii in 2006.

A HD remake of Twilight Princess on Wii U would follow naturally from the 2013 HD remake of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. It would also bolster the Wii U's forthcoming release slate, which has already seen the next mainline Zelda game delayed beyond 2015, and Star Fox Zero miss out on its original holiday release too.
