Ubisoft has laid to rest speculation about the Wii U version of Watch Dogs by confirming that the project, whilst still in development, will release after other versions.

The publisher confirmed the news in its latest conference call, stating that the goal was "to focus the team's resources where they could have the broadest possible benefit for both our customers and Ubisoft."

Watch Dogs itself has gone through something of a turbulent time whilst in development. Initially revealed to much positivity at E3 2012, the ambitious open-world game was due to release late last year, but was abruptly delayed into 2014 amogst reports concerning the state of the game's quality. The game has barely been showed publicly since the autumn of last year.

The other versions of the game are still officially scheduled to release at an unspecified time in Q2 2014.
